Chief Operating Officer | MSN, FNP-C, FACHE
“I’m emboldened by providing excellent care to today’s patients while identifying and preserving limited resources for generations of patients to come.”
Amanda James collaborates closely with field operations, medical affairs, and client relations. Her primary focus is to ensure Proactive MD’s operations are not only data-driven, but exceptional—surpassing our quality and financial benchmarks. Amanda works to challenge the prevailing cost of care and strives to secure provisions for the benefit of patients now and in the future.
With over a decade of experience in emergency and internal medicine, Amanda began building her population health expertise at BCBS Kansas City. Her operational insight extends to NCQA, FIDE-SNP, MA, and ASO programs, and she brings a strong skill set in alternative risk arrangements, which she leverages to achieve the best outcomes for Proactive MD’s partners. Amanda was drawn to Proactive MD because of our unwavering dedication to fighting for our patients’ greatest good and the exciting opportunity to craft a top-notch, longitudinal primary care solution that’s scalable, emphasizes resource stewardship, and prioritizes patient engagement. Outside of work, Amanda juggles the delightful chaos of the “James Family Circus” alongside her partner, Rob. She cherishes spending time with friends, is an avid football enthusiast (cheering for the Chiefs and Tarleton Texans), and if she has any energy left, indulges in the art of bread baking.
Chief Integration and Informatics Officer | PH.D.
“I believe access to healthcare is a human right, but our current system for delivering that care is confusing, expensive, difficult to access, and—most critically—leaves the patient behind. I know we can do better; I know we can reestablish a system where world-class healthcare is accessible, affordable, sustainable, and patient-centric.”
Jeremy VanderKnyff, Ph.D., leads Proactive MD’s innovation strategy across the Product, Marketing, Technology, and Data Science teams.
With over fifteen years of experience in informatics, clinical operations, and health communication, Dr. VanderKnyff works across Proactive MD’s value lanes to deliver solutions that further our mission to elevate the standard of primary care. After joining Proactive MD in 2018, Dr. VanderKnyff led the design and execution of our informatics strategy, projecting return on investment and population health impact to prospective partners and reporting the clinical and financial performance of our Health Centers. Before joining Proactive MD, Dr. VanderKnyff worked in clinical operations and health informatics at the South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control (DHEC), where he served as a Lean Six Sigma consultant and Director of Project Management. He has also served as an expert panelist and consultant for public health data systems and organizational performance management. He earned his Ph.D. in medical anthropology from the University of South Carolina. As a former world traveler (pre-children, of course), he still tries his hand at learning new languages and serves on the board of a nonprofit promoting and preserving South Carolina’s cultural heritage through archaeology education and outreach in public schools. Although he’s admittedly a terrible swimmer, Jeremy loves spending quiet time on the water, kayaking and paddleboarding on nearby lakes with his wife and two boys.
Executive Vice President of Medical Affairs | M.D.
